I was born in Maryland and forever a proud east coast seafood lover. Every dish should be topped with some crabmeat!
During my Thanksgiving break back home, I got to eat dinner at Fager's Island in Ocean City, Maryland. The dish I ordered was their Fells Point Rockfish that included a pan seared rockfish filet served with a garnish of jumbo lump crab meat, roasted red & yellow tomatoes, and a grilled artichoke over a red pepper Coulis.
The overall presentation could have been executed slightly better but the vibrant colors from the vegetables stood out and were lovely.
The rockfish was nicely cooked with a great tender and flaky texture. I would have preferred some type of seasoning on the fish, but the zesty Coulis helped provide a little extra pizzazz to the taste.
The crabmeat and roasted tomatoes were a delicious balance of rich and refreshing flavors.
My Maryland taste buds have high standards for a seafood dish, and I certainly felt satisfied but would not consider this the absolute best fish dish I have ever eaten.
Fager's Island restaurant has beautiful views and a lovely staff. The restaurant also features a menu with options for everyone.
There are not many things that I love more than sitting around a table full of family enjoying a meal together.
